In this short video, Phillip Mountrose, the Holistic Dr. Phil, shares some important secrets about being more alive?
What makes you feel more alive?
The faulty thinking goes something like this: “I just need to know exactly what I’m here to do. Then when it’s clear to me, I can successfully live my life purpose and fulfill my mission.”
Here’s the problem. Your purpose isn’t an exact thing to do. It’s not one narrow, fixed task you are meant to accomplish.
Before we explain more of what life purpose means, let’s explore this myth about life purpose a bit more so we can be free from its spell.
Believing you need to find the one right thing to do leads to thinking there are many wrong choices to make. In effect, by choosing the “wrong” pursuit, you are irreversibly going down the wrong path — and your purpose will remain unfulfilled.
This thinking actually means you are trying to be perfect. According to this “perfect” world, you must do exactly the right thing. Then all risk is eliminated and you’re fail-safe. Be perfect and your success is guaranteed.
By trying to be perfect, you also end up distrusting the universe. Here are some symptoms: You can become frozen in fear. You’re left with mediocrity and holding on, waiting for the perfect purpose to reveal itself.
Life purpose is not one thing, a single task or project to do. It’s much bigger, more encompassing and fluid.
Life purpose aligns with your talents and passions and how you want to make the world a better place. Your contribution.
Life purpose connects with a vision of the world, a vision that only you, with your unique abilities and experience, can help create. And your purpose directs you to create in a way that is right for you, which will unfold over time.
Our purpose is about making the world a more loving, prosperous place. Our mission, stems from our purpose. It’s about helping people – though our teaching, writing, consulting and communicating – become more loving, prosperous and whole, where everyone’s gifts are honored.
In other words, there are many ways to fulfill your purpose. It’s not about finding the one perfect thing to do. There are multiple activities and pursuits you can do that aligns with your purpose.
Barry Schwartz, in his book The Paradox of Choice, explained how too much choice can paralyze decision-making. Better yet, he suggests to become a “satsificer.” That means to use discernment and make a good choice.
You don’t need to make the “perfect” choice, and forever seek and second guess yourself. Just make a good choice. And we might add follow your intuition to help decide.
So let your purpose emerge from your gifts, passions and desires to make the world a better place. Don’t get hung up on perfectionism. Stop overanalyzing or trying to find the one right thing that will instantaneously realize your purpose.
Your life purpose is more expansive and fulfilling than that. With the right understanding, like we are suggesting here, it’s easier to embrace your purpose as well.
And as you live your life purpose, you get to grow and change along with your purpose itself. You and the world will be much richer for it.

Why does coaching work so well with holistic healing?
15 years ago we started our holistic hypnotherapy certification training. Over time we added EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), Spiritual Kinesiology (a healing from the soul technique we developed) and other powerful modalities.
These healing approaches worked extraordinarily well and our students and clients had great success.
But a question kept popping up. What do you do after you’ve resolved the blocks?
That’s where coaching comes in. Setting goals, strategies and planning with people is essential once they are clear and feeling confident to move forward.
So we added a systematic coaching component to our Heart and Soul of Success signature system. You really do need both, coaching and healing, to optimize what you can do with a person (or yourself) — whether it’s helping them with life purpose, manifestation, relationships or health.
That’s why we created our Holistic Coaching and Healing with EFT Telecourse Certification Program. Find out more about coaching and holistic healing…

We’ve noticed many people get stymied by trying to figure exactly what to do in order to follow their purpose. There seems to be some misunderstanding here. We’d like to help clarify.
Your life purpose is the big picture or big idea of your life. It’s the lens you focus through. It’s the direction you deeply desire to take. Sooner or later a vision or mission emerges.
Ours has to do with honoring everyone’s gifts and helping people fulfill their higher purpose.
SETTING GOALS AND YOUR LIFE PURPOSE
Twenty years ago we got involved in a multi-level marketing system. It wasn’t a place we ultimately wanted to be, but we learned a lot about being an entrepreneur and setting goals through the experience. The goals we wrote back then virtually all came to pass, though often in unexpected ways.
By setting goals, you start to
