Have some EFT Training and Certification Questions?
With the increasing number of options for EFT Training, it’s easy to become confused about what EFT Certification provides and questions are bound to arise.
Awakenings Institute, a non-profit organization, is a leader in this area. Awakenings has successfully offered one of the first EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) Training and Certification Courses since 2004.
At that time, we had more than a decade of experience in training people around the world in a variety of healing modalities including EFT, hypnotherapy, kinesiology, NLP, spiritual healing, Reiki, and more. From this experience, we created a unique, holistic approach, which our students have found to be powerful for getting to the heart of any issue, and highly effective.
It was our desire then, as it is now, to help people to reduce suffering and stress, take control of their lives, and create more love and happiness than they ever imagined possible before.
Over the years, we have received many questions about certification in the EFT Tapping Technique and we have seen that there is a lot of confusion about what is legal and what is required for valid certification.
If you are interested in certification, here’s the good news. EFT is becoming more and more widely used and accepted worldwide as a valid, non-invasive healing practice. It’s understandable that EFT Training Courses and Certification are in increasingly high demand.
Three good reasons for the popularity of EFT Certification Courses:
1. EFT is powerful. In fact, EFT (the Emotional Freedom Techniques) is considered by many to be the most effective self-help healing tool available today. As Deepak Chopra advises, “EFT offers great healing benefits.” And there’s more…
2. EFT is fast. The EFT technique works so quickly that people often receive relief in a matter of minutes from emotions that have troubled them sometimes for many years.
3. EFT is easy. It’s so simple to do that even children can use it effectively for relief from a wide range of emotional and in some cases physical challenges.
The Value of EFT Certification
Certification in EFT has tremendous value. It demonstrates a level of competence and professionalism for individuals who want to include EFT in a new career in the healing arts or add it as a new methodology in their current practice.
Many counselors, psychologists, massage therapists, Reiki practitioners, and more are increasing their effectiveness by adding tapping techniques to their practices.
Here are some questions we get about EFT Certification.
Do you have to be a join a specific organization to receive “official” and legal EFT Certification?
This is a common misunderstanding and the answer is “no.” Different organizations offer EFT Certification. Though we cannot possibly know of every regulation in every community in the United States or elsewhere, we are not aware of any place in the US where EFT is regulated by law.
Is Certification the same as Licensing?
No, certification is not the same as licensing. Where required in the US, licenses are issued by official state and federal agencies. Certification programs are a bit different. They provide confirmation of training in modalities like the Emotional Freedom Techniques where there are no official licensing requirements.
On a related note, it is still important to know the laws that relate to your practice in your local area, as they vary not just from state to state, but also in different cities and counties. In most cases, it is relatively easy to comply with these regulations.
Are all EFT Certification Training Courses equal?
The answer is “no,” and this is an important point. If you want to be certified in EFT, the expertise of your trainers is critical. Would you prefer to learn from trainers with a year or two of experience, or from trainers who have spent decades exploring personal growth and holistic healing?
We were early implementers of EFT and wrote one of the first books on the subject in 1998, Getting Thru to Your Emotions with EFT. Though EFT is very easy in many cases, the real test of your expertise is with the challenging cases. Our focus has always been on being highly effective in the shortest possible amount of time and with the least possible wear and tear on our clients and ourselves.
With expertise in mind, it’s important to know how much your trainers actually understand, not just about the basics of EFT, but also about how the human psyche works. Receiving training from people who have a high level of expertise can save you years of trying to figure out the tough stuff on your own.
After all these years, we continue to improve our skills. With challenging clients, we find that having more than twenty years of experience in the healing arts pays off. We have learned how to reach into the deep recesses of the mind and help people who have not been successful with EFT working with others.
What else should you consider with EFT Training and Certification?
If you want to know what is in the heart of your potential trainers, give them a call and speak with them in person. Most of the people who study with us tell us they appreciate it that we are down to earth and looking out for the best interests of our students.
“The combination of Jane and Phillip Mountrose is supportive in strength and deep in spirit. They help students move through doors that make dynamic differences in their lives.”
We take the basics and expand on them to increase your effectiveness with our own signature “Getting Thru” techniques and tips for being a highly effective practitioner.
