Phillip Mountrose shows you 3 simple ways to spend more of your time “in the zone,” living your life to its full potential.
As you grow older, an urge tends to become stronger: to make the most of yourself, so you can help yourself and others as much as you can. If you follow this path to fulfillment, you will be happy now and throughout your life.
The challenge comes from the fears that get in your way. Without proper attention, these inner conflicts can stop you from creating an extraordinary lif and accomplishing your life goals.
(By the way, you do deserve an extraordinary life!)
Let’s identify 3 core fears and how you can overcome these fears.
1. FEAR OF FAILURE
“What if my goals and dreams don’t work out?”
Perhaps you’ve tried before and came up short. Perhaps you know little about what you want to explore. Perhaps none of your family or friends have accomplished anything like what you’d like to do.
The journey of a 1000 miles still starts with the first step.
To move forward, let’s use some affirmations to help clarify your mind on fear of failure. You can also use EFT, the tapping technique, to speed up the process of integrating these affirmations.
“Even though I’m afraid I will fail, I can still love and accept myself.”
“Even though I’ve failed before, I can go forward now.”
2. FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN
We often may fear the unknown — but it’s a poor success strategy. To help face uncertainty, it’s good to be prepared, in the right place mentally and physically.
To be your best, you need beneficial routines. Research continues to show how life-enhancing good habits are — such as eating healthy, exercising, sleeping 7-8 hours nightly, and having a support network. The body and emotions thrive when you regularly nurture yourself.
Your body depends on certain necessities. When you take care of your body, you can venture more easily into the unknown, where creativity and more freedom lies. Then you are free to use your creative imagination to craft a wonderful life.
You can also use your fears to energize you. Fears can motivate you to become more innovative and productive.
Make it a priority to use your discernment and find new projects, new friends, new possibilities. Stay curious and take that next step.
Affirmations for fear of the unknown:
“Even though it’s scary doing something I’ve never done before, I can still take care of myself and nurture my spirit.”
“Even though I’m anxious about this new opportunity, I can still find my way and go forward.”
3. FEAR OF WHAT OTHERS THINK
We find that most people are more influenced than they realize by what others think. The idea that someone might criticize or “reject” them stops many people in their tracks.
In truth, most people are too self-absorbed to think that often of others.
If you do ask them to join you in some venture, they may say “no.” They may not understand why you are going in a new area, and possibly will try to stop you “for your own good” — mostly due to their own projected fears.
When we try to please others, we are being co-dependent. Take a cue from those who are already successful: follow your heart and your own dreams. What’s more, team up with some others who can help you advance — either by collaborating or mentoring.
As you go forward, others will too. You will boldly pave the way for others who are ready to break from the herd, too.
Affirmations for fear of what others think:
“Even though people may criticize me, I still love and accept myself and know I’m okay.”
“Even though people may not understand what I’m doing, I’m following my heart and attracting like-minded people as I go forward.”
FINAL THOUGHTS — TAKE A LEAP
Every day you have a choice. To go forward with your hopes and dreams or stay stuck in fear.
Isn’t now the time to turn those fears into motivations for you to go forward? Tap on the fears whenever they show up.
As the poet Apollinaire wrote in his poem “The Leap”:
“Come to the edge, He said.
They said: We are afraid.
Come to the edge, He said.
They came. He pushed them.
And they flew…”
Whether you need an angel – or yourself – (or both) to push you, you too can fly! To the heart of your success.

There are 3 aspects of being in the right place at the right time. Each aspect reinforces the other ones.
1. BEING ON PURPOSE
What is your bigger purpose, beyond just surviving? When you use your gifts and skills to help others, when you have a mission statement, you live on purpose. The idea is to have a vision of a better world — not just generically wanting to help people.
It may involve performing, helping children, offering a service or product. When your life revolves around your passionate purpose, you know you are on track. Your life has daily direction and meaning.
2. OVERCOMING OBSTACLES
Just because you’re on purpose doesn’t mean life is always a breeze. Challenges regularly occur. Here’s the secret: become keenly aware of how you respond to those challenges.
There are 2 kinds of obstacles: one coming from intention, the other from inattention. In the first case, you are on track; in the other, you are off track.
The first kind of challenge naturally arises when you go for your dreams and goals and things get in the way. These can come from outside conflicts as well as your own internal doubts.
Being in the flow includes doing what it takes. Realize that opportunities may be inconvenient. You may need to just hang in there — and sometimes reinvent yourself.
The second obstacle comes when we get off track. At times we are inattentive and careless. Then stuff happens; we get a speeding ticket or make an inconsiderate comment. We may deviate by following bright shiny objects (like a young child), ending up wasting time and money.
Whether we are navigating staying the course or needing to get back on track, we can still do one thing: Make any situation into an opportunity.
To help, use EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) to set your thoughts and feelings aright.
As you take charge of your life, use your setbacks to grow. Look for the good in the sometimes crazy obstacles that you face.
It’s comforting to know you can use any experience in your life. Put those painstaking experiences into your compost pile and watch how they fertilize your dreams and goals.
3. FEELING GOOD
Overall, you feel good when you are on track. You realize, sometimes with a groan, that the setbacks will lead you to where you want to go. It may mean finding a creative solution, persevering or just being more aware.
What does a day of being in the right place at the right time look like?
You’re intent on leading a rich, purposeful life. You want to help yourself, others, and the world in a greater way. Like the Energizer Bunny, you keep on going.
When you experience loss, you find a way to feel better in the moment. You grow and learn. You become continually grateful for all you have.
You wake up and realize, “I’m in the right place at the right time!”
So you continually lead a purposeful life, deal with setbacks, and feel as good as you can (the 3 keys). You then are well-positioned to be in the right place at the right time.
It’s all part of the journey. And if you know where you want to go, it’s much easier to enjoy the ride.
Are you following your intuition? Sometimes we find that people end up following their fears and thinking its their “guidance” or being intuitive.
Our long-time driving force is living a soul-inspired life. We seek to align consciously with infinite intelligence as much as possible each day.
We attribute our success to “keeping the faith” in this approach. Living a wonderful life in a beautiful area and house, doing what we love (training and publishing), networking and helping others has been a true blessing.
Yet we’ve definitely had our share of setbacks along the way as we continued taking “leaps of faith.” It does take some perseverance and staying the course.
HERE’S THE CONFUSION
From what we’ve learned, we teach people to follow their deeper wisdom and hunches. Being receptive to your intuition is the internal feminine part of your being.
The gap can come in following your guidance, the masculine/doing action part of yourself.
The challenge may go something like this…
I have this calling to be a healer/coach/networker/ start a business or whatever is inspiring. But when it comes to taking action (training, investing, marketing), obstacles naturally arise.
A common reaction then is, “Maybe it’s not for me”; “I’ll do it later”; or “My intuition is telling me not to go ahead because of this resistance.”
There may be some truth in any of these responses. It’s likely, however, that your fears and doubts are clouding your guidance. Instead of following your hunches, then negative self-talk prevails: “What if it fails?” “I probably can’t do it anyway.”
RISING TO THE CREATIVE PLANE
When you do rise from the competitive to the creative plane, as Wallace Wattles described, things look differently. You are then divinely guided. You access what physicists call the nonlocal mind, which transcends time and space.
You see your possibilities and what you can accomplish — how you can help yourself and others. Fear does become a legitimate warning system at appropriate times. If you are climbing a mountain and the path is slippery, you take extra caution.
If you are starting a new venture (say, a new training or business ), you may need extra effort and patience to succeed. The idea is to bring heaven down to earth, to integrate the creative plane into your daily life.
Challenges and stress naturally occur. Overcoming obstacles and rising to the occasion then is part of the journey to a greater life. That’s how you make progress.
In other words, having challenges when acting on your guidance doesn’t mean that your original insight was wrong. It often means that you are being tested. Following through on your hunches builds character and fulfills your deeper purpose.
USING INTUITION TO SUCCEED
Many of us can get lost in our internal world and feel separate. We can be fearful of offending others, too.
Once you actually follow your guidance, however, you add value to yourself. You add value to yourself by
~ enlisting support
~ and taking specific actions.
Then you truly are able to help others, rather than getting stuck for fear of criticism or making a mistake.
Following your guidance and intuition is a journey. We all have times of getting off track, and maybe even fooling ourselves by blaming others and outside circumstances.
Forgive yourself. Then decide to move forward… starting today.
The goal is to keep spiraling up — from stepping out of the crowd, to embracing yourself, to more fully expressing yourself.
YOUR NEXT STEP
So what is your next step in following your intuition? It may be just finishing a small task. Or perhaps talking to someone you’ve avoided. Doing the small things makes it easier to do the big things.
To be sure, following your guidance doesn’t mean there are no challenges or glitches. You still need to prepare and do your homework.
Of course, doubts and fears will arise. Following though sometimes means feeling the fear and doing it anyway.
Let yourself be courageous. You can do it!

Ever considered more about success coaching certification. Learn about a home-course training program that even includes a way you can make money as you study.
First, feel good by acknowledging what you have already accomplished: goals you have reached, people you have helped.
Then remember that making a difference starts from within. To succeed, it’s essential to develop and ongoing success mindset. As your vibration stays stronger longer, it naturally translates into action. Then you manifest success.
So what gets in the way? It’s not about comparing yourself to others, which is a common showstopper. Yes, learn and be inspired by others; just remember that you are unique. It’s about pursuing your own self-actualizing path.
Also, it’s not about being perfect, getting those imaginary ducks in a row. Waiting for the perfect time – another common obstacle – is just as self-defeating.
THREE KEYS TO MAKING A DIFFERENCE
1. Have a vision. Intend for your picture of how your individual talents and skills can help others make a better world to come into view. Then develop a mission to carry your own personal crusade to better yourself and others.
“I use my ______[talents/skills] to help people __________.”
2. Use strategies. These approaches will then actualize your dreams and goals that emerge from your vision. For example, develop your own business, or give 110% at your job to attract greater possibilities.
You can also help solve people’s problems. If you want to make a living from helping others, choose those who are willing and able to pay for your products/services.
To succeed, find the best practices in your chosen area for success.
3. Have a daily success routine. Successful people regulate their lives so they are “fit for success.”
Practices we and others use include:
eating and sleeping well
reading positive books; listening to success audios
associating with upbeat, successful people
meditating and affirming expansive ideas
As a note, the above takes self-discipline, to which you want to dedicate yourself for your own success and self-actualization.
One of our taglines is that “we help people step up and make a difference.” You must be willing to “step up” to make a difference.
This may even include getting so frustrated that you no longer can tolerate staying where you are.
Find a way to step up today (the best time to do it).
Stay with it. Never, ever give up; simply learn and grow from the challenges. Then you will be proud of your legacy: “I made a difference.”
We asked a group we spoke to if they’d like more money. One lady replied, “Sure everyone wants more money, BUT…” This common response shows how you can get caught in the “but,” so to speak.
What does money represent? More freedom: that means greater support of your family, more fun, more trips and dining, more contribution.
In Napoleon Hill’s The Law of Success in 16 Lessons, he emphasized having a definite chief aim in order to succeed.
However, Hill notes that if you just think, “My definite purpose in life is to be of as much service to the world as possible and earn a good living,” you will fall short of what you could achieve.
Let us explain. Having an overall purpose, as we do (we “help to make the world a more creative, collaborative and prosperous place”), can be a good starting point. It’s a starting, not ending, point.
To succeed, you need to use your skills and talents to achieve something SPECIFIC related to your overall purpose.
FROM OPRAH WINFREY TO MARTHA STEWART
Whether you observe the Dalai Lama or Warren Buffet, Oprah or Martha Stewart, they all have something in common that creates their success. They consistently follow their dreams and have an intense focus.
To create a great life, you need a definite intent, along with daily focus and persistence. Napoleon Hill cites many examples of people who had a definite chief aim, with a burning desire to achieve it:
Your chief aim may not be directly about money. Many teachers and artists may have a modest income but are happy.
However, if you want to be able to have more freedom, you need to know how to create and manifest, which includes money, and what it represents (more freedom, happiness, fun, contribution).
If you say aloud, “I want money,” or “I enjoy money,” how do you feel?
If money can create a better life, why are many of us uncomfortable claiming it and focusing on it? It’s because of the negative programming we’ve received about money. As a result, we end up unconsciously focusing on not having enough.
We encourage you to become more aware of money issues, so you can have the resources you need to live a larger life and bigger dream.
Here’s an important step: just become more aware of your thoughts and feelings around money, which can lead you to getting clear.
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) also helps in clearing blocks, so you can create and focus on your definite chief aim, as Napoleon Hill advises.[contentbox width=”400″ borderwidth=”1″ borderstyle=”dotted” bordercolor=”CC2908″ dropshadow=”0″ backgroundcolor=”F5F5F5″ radius=”0″]GETTING CLEAR
So how do you get unstuck and create a more extraordinary life?
First, get clear on exactly on what you want. Make it believable and exciting.
If you are focusing on a monthly income goal, pick a number that you can believe, an amount that also gets you excited. Write down what you will do with this added income.
Next, keep focusing on your goal and post in on a dream board and dream book.[/contentbox]
Dream often, visualizing your life as if the dream has already been fulfilled. Use all your senses to ‘feel’ the result.
And finally, surround yourself with people who support your dreams and goals.
As you get clearer and focus on your definite chief aim, your vibration rises. You find opportunities (and they find you). Sometimes things come to you “out of the blue,” as you create a more and more extraordinary life.
Dream today. Focus and get that intense desire to create a better life — for yourself, for others, and for the world. It’s a win-win-win when you follow your dreams
“Do you feel there is More to life than meets the eye — and that you can have a much productive and fulfilling life… perhaps more than you every imagined?”
