7 Ways to Find and Live Your Purpose

Here are seven practical, down-to-earth ways to live your purpose, to become the person you are meant to be:

 1. Imagine a better world. Use your higher mind to access your unconscious mind with all its resources. Let words and images bubble up in your mind. Then consider how you would like the world to improve.

2. Inventory your innate gifts. Are you a natural caregiver, a great listener or researcher, an outstanding performer? Note these gifts in writing as it will make your life-purpose realization process easier. You can also write down your answer for the first suggestion above.

3. What skills would you like to learn? Also what current skills do you want to develop further?

4. Follow your passion. We are talking about exciting activities like travelling, studying, starting projects, visiting loved ones. These pursuits are in contrast to addictive behaviors and impulses that mask pain and self-medicate. The distinction lies in whether these activities lead to fulfillment or emptiness and craving?

5. Cultivate curiosity. As Todd Kashdan wrote in Curious? “It’s hard to think of a human endeavor where curiosity doesn’t play a vital role… it serves as a gateway to what we value and cherish most.”

6. If you were on an important mission, what might it be? An adventure that leads to discovering a new energy source? Inventing a new app or technology? Creating a great work of art? Helping people in need?

7. Affirm daily, “I’m realizing and living my purpose more and more…” Once your purpose becomes more articulate, add it to your daily affirmation: “I’m [state my purpose] every day.”

FINAL THOUGHTS

Your purpose, like your life, is a work in progress. You just need to figure out a destination, which may change and evolve as you do.

Once your purpose comes into focus, you will be able to appreciate and chart your progress on the journey you are taking. We look forward to your success!

Your Life Purpose

Many of life’s problems disappear when you discover and consciously live your life purpose. When you are doing what you are born to do, you feel on track, on purpose. Agonizing decisions become clear choices.

SO WHAT IS LIFE PURPOSE?

Life purpose is how you fit into the bigger picture of life. It’s answering the question of, “What can I do not only to help myself, but to help others?”

Here then is your life purpose in a nutshell (of course, it’s much bigger than that). First, on an intuitive, knowing level, you already have a sense (vision) of a better world.

Second, you find your own gifts and skills. You want to pick the talents that you are passionate about. Use them regularly to make the world a better place.

Doing what you love puts you in the timeless flow of life. You’re doing what you enjoy to help yourself, others and the planet.

YOUR GIFTS

Let’s look at the term “your gifts.” This means you were gifted with certain abilities. If you develop and share these talents that move you, they will move others to a better place, too.

What happens if you don’t develop your gifts? You remain in potential. You could say that you end up wasting what has been given to you. Hence the maxim about dying with your music left inside of you.

Using your gifts and crafting a purposeful life lets life flow through you, sometimes quite mysteriously. The result is you help others grow by how you serve people with your gifts. Of course, in the process you flourish as well.

FINDING YOUR PURPOSE

Me and my wife’s purpose is “to become empowered communicators to help the world be a more creative, caring, collaborative and prosperous place — bringing out the best in ourselves and everyone.”

(As a note, your purpose continues to grow and shift as you do.)

As you open to who you are at a deeper level, you become more confident. You have a stronger sense of self. You become strong enough to stand up to criticism and learn from feedback.

It doesn’t mean you never falter or experience setbacks. You just persist and rise to a higher level — so you can be more and help more.

FINAL THOUGHTS ON A LIFE WITH PURPOSE

We suggest that you make finding and living your purpose a priority. Remember to do it with mindfulness and ease. No need to force it to happen. Once started, just let it happen.

Let the universe guide you to discover and live your purpose more fully. You and everyone will be glad you did!

Are You Fit for Success?

What’s stopping you from being fit for success?  Health for success means aligning your body-mind-spirit to be your best. It’s not just about surviving, but about thriving.

Successful people are fit for success. They need to be, in order to have the energy and stamina to live fully.

One of the biggest roadblocks is fear. We’ll focus on what Napoleon Hill described in Think and Grow Rich as the ghostly fear of ill-health.

Hill noted that fear of ill-health related to two other ghostly fears: fears of old age and death. If you dwell on sickness, or just ignore good health practices, sickness becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy as you age. So being old and sick can be scary. And then there are the uncertainties that surround death itself.

The good news is that as you clear you fear of ill-health, the other fears diminish as well.

FOUR KEY FACTORS

Let’s look at four key factors that generate a fear of ill-health:

1) Media messages

“Diet and exercise alone may not be enough,” as the drug ads warns us.  In other words, you need drugs because even if you do take care of yourself, it won’t work.  In addition to drugs, there are the fast food and processed food industries advertising, which can give you indigestion in more ways than one.

2) Negative self-talk

How do you talk about your body? Are things a “pain in a neck,” something you “can’t stomach,” that will “be the death” of you?

Also, do you compare yourself unfavorably to others’ looks and health? Isn’t it time to stop that?  Strive for your personal excellence, not perfection.

3) Bad habits

What about taking care of your diet? Do you deprive your body of exercise and sleep?  Drinking, smoking, overeating, gambling, tv and internet compulsion and other addictions are often used to deal with not being fit for success.

4) Self-medicating behavior

And then there is coping with stress by self-medicating behavior: drugs to fall asleep, drugs to wake up (including caffeine), alcohol, nicotine, drugs for stress, headaches, allergies,  etc. – all issues that can be dealt with in a more holistic way.

SOLUTIONS

You may know what you need to do but can’t bring yourself to do it, with any consistency.

To have health for success, you know that you need to treat your body like a car, a car that must last a lifetime. To continue this analogy… get a tune up, deal with those warning signals, start tapping on EFT pressure points while saying these affirmations…

Even though my body feels like it’s breaking down, I love and accept myself anyway.

Even though I don’t have the energy I want, I can choose to think positively about myself.

Even though I have bad habits, I can start to make a small change today.

Even though I’m too busy [it’s too hard, I’m confused, overwhelmed], I can start to breathe deeper… stand up straight… stretch more… and relax myself.

Saying these affirmations is a pretty easy thing to do. Try them, or ones of your choosing. You might be surprised at the shifts you experience. Or just start tapping on the pressure points. Do it as a daily fit for success practice.

Then follow through with baby steps, making gradual changes perhaps eating one healthier thing a day, walking or sleeping more, etc.

You have a lot to offer and a lot to gain. Being fit for success is the foundation for living a great life now.
