Did you know that you can choose to turn your narrative into a hero\u2019s journey?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">Here\u2019s the challenge: it\u2019s easy to be <i>un<\/i>aware of your heroic possibilities as you get lost in routine, distraction and hurry-and-worry. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">So let\u2019s look at how you can become the hero\/heroine of your own story \u2013 consciously authoring your own life.<\/span><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 22px;\"><b><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">What Limits Your Story <\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">What holds you back? It\u2019s largely the limiting beliefs, programmed into us by authorities and carried over from generation to generation and lifetime to lifetime.<\/span><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><!--more--><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">Let\u2019s note some common examples, described by neuroscience educator and author Sara Peyton as \u201cself-management.\u201d As you become aware of these mindsets, you can start to change. <\/span><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">Below are some limiting and liberating mindsets to manage your well-being.<\/span><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">* <em>Comparison<\/em>: \u201cEveryone else has it figured out\u201d versus \u201cI can take steps to get clarity and get help too.\u201d <\/span><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">* <em>Proving ourselves wrong:<\/em> \u201cI should have healed by now \u2013 I\u2019m 50 years old!\u201d versus \u201cI\u2019ve made progress and can continue to improve.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">* <em>Verbal self-abuse:<\/em> \u201cI\u2019m so stupid\u201d versus \u201cI know and can do certain things. I value myself.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px; font-family: georgia, palatino; color: #26282a;\">* <em>Blaming others:<\/em> \u201cThis all happened because they\u2026\u201d versus \u201cYes this may be challenging, but I can find ways to empower myself.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #26282a;\"><em>What\u2019s the bottom line<\/em> of all these terrible restrictions that we put on ourselves? It\u2019s shame.\u00a0 This mistaken identity includes such self-labels as \u201dI\u2019m a failure\u201d or \u201cSomething is wrong with me.\u201d\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">To be sure, this is <i>not <\/i>your soul speaking to you.<\/span><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 22px;\"><b><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">How Christy Upgraded Her Story and Purpose<\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">Christy is a student in our <a href=\"https:\/\/gettingthru.org\/life-coach\/courses\/holistic-coach-training-course\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Spiritual Holistic Coaching and Healing Program<\/a><span style=\"background: #FDF869;\">.<\/span>\u00a0She used one of our processes to dramatically change her story. It was about the disempowering relationship she had with her brother. <\/span><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px; font-family: georgia, palatino; color: #26282a;\">Now in her fifth decade of life, Christy still repeated the pattern of trying to help her brother when he was struggling, such as with finding and keeping a job.\u00a0 When offering a suggestion to him, he would become defensive and yell at her. She always ended up feeling helpless and defeated.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">After <a href=\"https:\/\/gettingthru.org\/holistic\/healing-power-of-the-soul\/?tl_inbound=1&amp;tl_target_all=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">connecting with her soul<\/a>, Christy received a beautiful image: a dove in her heart. As a part of the healing process, she sent that image into her old self, the one reacting to her brother.<\/span><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">In the days following this process, her relationship with her brother changed.\u00a0 She was more present and avoided the old triggers. She could now hold a loving space for him, understanding that he had free will to make his own choices. Their time together became more positive, and her story had been upgraded to a more fulfilling one.<\/span><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 18px;\">\u00a0Christy described a confrontation that occurred after the healing session, &#8220;I felt myself relax and my heart open. I truly felt unconditional love for him even in that moment of madness. It all ended as peacefully as such a thing can.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 22px;\"><b><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">Upgrading Your Story<\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #26282a;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5912 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/gettingthru.org\/life-coach\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/2purpose-story.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"291\" height=\"194\" \/>You too can rewrite your story and upgrade it like Christy did. She went from feeling triggered and defeated by her brother to a more loving, supportive person in his life, as she empowered her own self.<\/span><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">For yourself, you can take specific steps to change your story where it is flagging, to become the hero of your own story. You can fulfill your higher destiny.<\/span><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 20px;\"><b><span style=\"color: #26282a;\"><span style=\"font-size: 22px;\">How-To&#8217;s on Purposively Upgrading Your Life<\/span> <\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">You can change limiting and self-defeating patterns. One way to start is to think of a limiting pattern \u2013 for example, not being good with money or relationships. Then remember an exception to that pattern.\u00a0 However small, remember that time you succeeded with money or had a good time in a relationship. <\/span><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">To build on that success, start changing your self-talk. Go from,I\u2019m a person who [keeps failing, doesn\u2019t matter, etc.]\u201d to \u201cI\u2019m a person who keeps learning and growing, on a creative, fulfilling journey.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">Here\u2019s another couple of mantras to adopt and say to yourself regularly: \u201cI\u2019m a person who finds ways to succeed with [money, relationships <span style=\"background: white;\">e<\/span>tc.].\u201d \u201cI keep finding ways to overcome and win at life.\u201d<\/span><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"font-size: 22px;\"><b><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">Final Thoughts<\/span><\/b><\/span><b><span style=\"color: #26282a;\"><span style=\"font-size: 22px;\"> on Your Purpose and Story<\/span><br \/>\n<\/span><\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">Take a moment to appreciate that you are on a rare, precious journey. However many times you incarnate, this one is unique with an expiration date. <\/span><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">Don\u2019t let life\u2019s routines, distractions, and obligations consume you. In other words, live your life, don\u2019t just go through the motions.<\/span><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">Wherever you feel lost or deflated, use it as a signal. It\u2019s a doorway, an opportunity to re-evaluate\u00a0 and uplift your life. You can be in charge whenever you decide to do so.<\/span><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">Then you go from being a wandering generality to a meaningful specific, as Zig Ziglar said.<\/span><span style=\"color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px; font-family: georgia, palatino; color: #26282a;\">Of course you are a human being, not a human doing. Yet as you upgrade your story and become more \u2013 with more intentional choices and inspired actions \u2013 you do live more fully. You live on purpose, which is a wonderfully meaningful way to live<s><\/s>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"ydp3f48b264yiv2267811794msonormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; color: #26282a;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-family: georgia, palatino; color: #26282a;\">As you change your story, you change your world and the world at large.\u00a0 You will never be the same as you embark on a wonderful heroic journey.
