Holistic/Spiritual Life Coaching and Healing

Are You Missing Any of These Life Coaching Success Skills?

Do you have what it takes to be a successful life coach? Achieving success in any endeavor requires most people to move out of their comfort zones and learn skills and habits that are different from the ones they developed earlier in life. Everyone can benefit from tips that will help them to succeed.

This is particularly true for those who don’t have business backgrounds. Shifting from being an employee to having your own coaching practice (or any business for that matter) involves taking a big leap into the unknown. The good news is you can learn the keys to personal success that will help you and your life coaching practice to thrive.

These skills will also help your clients to succeed in life and in business, but for now, it always starts with you.

Here are five essential life coaching success skills:

1. Inner Drive to Succeed: You must have that vital passion to succeed. One way to achieve this is to choose what you love to do. You have to LOVE coaching because you can’t be passionate about something you don’t love. Steve Job puts it this way:

“Find your true passion and do what you love to do.”

Everything is connected and from a holistic perspective, your body, emotions, mind, and spirit have to come into harmony for your to be your personal best. So find what you love to do the most and stick with it. That way, you’ll easily remain committed to achieving the goals you set for yourself regardless of the obstacles that get in your way.

2. Build Your Confidence
: Creating a successful life coaching practice involves facing obstacles and dilemmas you probably haven’t encountered before. This is true in any area of life where you are expanding and growing.

This kind of growth in an essential element in living fully, so you need to be well prepared. Without an underlying sense of self-worth, you will never have the courage to undertake the challenges you are bound to face. Like anything, confidence is a skill you can develop that will benefit you and your clients throughout life.

3. Be Willing to Invest in Yourself:
Investing in yourself is a continuous learning process. Investing in building confidence is one of many ways you can invest wisely in yourself. It involves gaining resources and consistently making improvements.

The best investment you’ll have is YOURSELF.

What does this mean? Successful people constantly read success-oriented books. They attend seminars, workshops and training courses even if they have already mastered the subject matter to a great degree.

Why? They do these things because they know that learning is a lifelong process. Even if you are at the top, there’s always something to learn that can enhance your life. The well-spent dollars you invest in resources will be insignificant compared to the great success you’ll gain. After all, a single tip can mean hundreds or even many thousands of dollars in your future.

4. Be Flexible to Change: The fact is, things don’t go exactly as planned most of the time. You have to be able to thrive on change. As James Yorke puts it:

“The most successful people are those who are good at plan B.”

When something goes wrong, successful people have a back-up plan ready. They easily adapt to the changes that they unpredictably have to face.

5. Create a Support System: Even though you might like to think independently and do things your way, it’s important to have a group of like-minded people you can connect with for ideas and inspiration.

It’s essential to have a group of people that can guide and help you when you need advice.

People at the top of their game have close advisers they rely on when they need help. Highly successful people like Oprah Winfrey have advisers when dealing with business matters. Sports champions depend on their coaches when it comes to perfecting their skills and Steven Spielberg seeks guidance from his mentors when he’s creating a new movie. Having a support system is vital to your success.

And above all, realize that the most important of all these success qualities is staying in the game. To succeed as a life coach, know that magic is happening and keep your eyes open for it.
