In The Heart Campaign, our goal is to provide a means of participation for those who look at what’s happening in the world – the fear, hatred, environmental destruction, and more – and recognize there’s a better way. What if we could create a more loving world where everyone is honored and nurtured?
It warms the heart to stand up for something that makes a positive difference. In our hearts, we sense that we’re here to live happily, to expand our horizons, and to come together to create a better world. Love and happiness are essential to our well-being.
It saddens our hearts to watch how hostile our interactions with each other have become, both personally and collectively. While we all want the same things – well-being, happiness, freedom, new possibilities – we oppose the very things that could transform our lives.
Our Solution for Transforming the World
Simply stated, the ultimate solution for transforming the world is to actively promote love wherever we are and wherever we go. What might be possible if we foster love on social media online, with our families and friends, and in our communities, not just for a day or a week, but for every day of the year.
This is a campaign that unites rather than divides, while promoting the ultimate solution to the troubles that plague our world. Anyone can do this and we have a plan you can follow now.
Consider this…
Too many of us stand against each other and the things our hearts desire rather than rising in support of our mutual goals. It feels like our interactions are becoming dumber and meaner rather than smarter and more caring. Fear and hatred seem to prevail at times when love and respect could produce much better results.
What many people don’t seem to realize is that we have a choice. Many of us wallow around in the mud where little is possible when we could just as easily rise to a lofty mountaintop with an expansive view of the beauty and possibilities that are all around us.
Why Love is the Solution
We know love is the solution. In a world where love is the guiding force, there could be no war because there would be no hatred. There could be no poverty, because we would share resources with each other. No one could go to bed hungry, because we would care for one another as much as we care for ourselves.
Imagine how much better the world could be if more of us devoted our time, energy, and resources to supporting one another rather than creating war and strife around the world. In a world where love is the guiding force, happiness would prevail and our collective destiny would be bright.
This is the dream of Awakenings Institute and the overriding mission of this website. Just imagine what might be possible if we brought out the best in one another and celebrated our mutual successes rather than trying to tear each other down.
Pipe Dream or Real Possibility
The thing that gives us hope is our natural inclinations. Young children accept each other equally, they love hearts and until it is beaten out of them, they love love.
Exploring human nature, we all know the following to be true:
• The body is self-healing and it thrives most fully in a loving, supportive environment. We’re designed for happiness to be our normal state. It supports our physical health, emotional well-being, and our capacity to realize our true potential. We know this because stress and related emotions like hatred, fear, anxiety, and the like are destructive to our health. Stress can even be a killer.
• The heart, at the center of our being, has its own intelligence. We commonly say things like “I have to follow my heart” and “this touches my heart,” without ever questioning what this really means. Interestingly, when asked to point to ourselves, just about all of us point to our hearts.
• Most of the conflict in the world occurs as the result of hatred and religious conflicts, while our spiritual traditions are overwhelmingly built on love. The Golden Rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you,” has correlations in just about all of the world’s religions and philosophies.
Keeping our spirits up and focusing on love and happiness transforms lives. More feels possible, so more is possible. Together, we can make a difference and every one of us matters.
